The Benefits of Chess

Chess is one of the most challenging games in the world. Icon Chess Foundation draws from creative curriculum that uses chess as a teaching tool to strengthen academic performance in subjects ranging from math to reading. Chess has the power to motivate young people to challenge Chess is a game of life, an art, a passion!themselves and develop a positive attitude towards learning and life. It is a competitive game where young people can battle for checkmate without the violence permeating most competitive games or dominating the lives of many at-risk youth. Young persons participating in Icon Chess Foundation programs demonstrate improved behavior and academic performance. Parents, teachers, and principals report impressive changes in student's academic performance, confidence, and outlook on life.
